Turia Pitt

In 2011 beautiful Turia Pitt was an Australian mining engineer, model and marathon runner. That year has changed her life a lot. She was trapped by a grass fire in a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon, and suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body. Her life did not end at that. Now she became to be known as one of Australia’s most inspirational and courageous people. Turia is famously known to be an inspirational and motivational speaker, author and soon be wife of her fiance Michael Hoskin.

Michael, when CNN asked if there was a time, that he thought of leaving her and submit Pitt to someone’s care, replied;

“I married her soul, her character, and she’s the only woman that will continue to fulfill my dreams.”

I was amazed when I read their love story. Because I have seen lots of people being left even by their parents after injury. Behind every person like Turia stands somebody. And I see her mother and Michael.

I often get asked same question as Michael. Why do I still take care of your brother? My brother had brain injury in 2012. Was in deep coma for 2 months and still has rehabilitation. The first 2 years were the hardest and all family did something for him. Most of his friends disappeared. Its difficult to tell how hard it was to tell disabled person that his old friends are too busy to come to visit him after him being half of year in hospital. So only the family was here for him.

After trying everything in our country we went to Poland and after unsuccessful treatment there we moved to France. With help of Lord he had some success here. But this is not what I was going to write this morning.

Its this question Michael was asked by CNN. And I am sure that they were not first who asked this. People often say to me. What do you imagine your life like? When are you gonna have kids? Time is passing and you miss your best years of life. When I hear that I completely dont understand these people!

I do not understand how they can be so sure of their life? Do they have comprehensive cover with God? How can they be sure that they will not get in car crash or fall from something? Or at least they will be walking and something fall on their head? And guess what? After being hurt or lose some parts of body.. they will continue to have same soul. Same minds. They will need more support then before. And its choice of everyone to leave them or to change your own life for gaining somebody life.

After accident I asked God lots of questions. Why this happened? Why to him? I dont ask this questions now. Actually, Im grateful to God that He has blessed me with my brother. Even life has changed and I do not know what the future look like. But now I know for sure how Great my God is. And this words are not encouraging. These words are full of tears and hope. There is nothing prestigious in my life. And nothing to show off to my friends. But Its priceless to see your brother trying to walk or learning how to eat. To feel how much hope you give him after telling how proud you are. All these moments cost more then perfect life. They are a blessing.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

I believe God. I believe that He guides us though life. I believe that He hears us and He has the best plan for each of His children. Look at Turia. She did not lose her life even when it seemed that its ruined. God gave her different but better life. Accept Gods changes and trust Him.
